Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $2,796.81 were approved and ordered paid tb=the following suppliers: American Dist. Gloyeski, #122 is hereby received and placed on: file in the office of the Board. Officer Frank V. Pinterics submits to the Board at this time a report of expenses that will be incurred for attending the conference of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators in Memphis, Tennessee from July 23 to 26, inclusive. Permission is granted for said Pinterics to attend the conference. Applications for the Fire Department were accepted and placed on file for Joseph Lickhay. Applications for the Police Department were accepted and placed on file for James Walk- er, and Ernest Rozanski, and Rashid Irsheid, and Thomas Owens. The monthly report of the Police Department is hereby accepted and placed on file in the office of the Board.. The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the Central Alarm Headquarters, Central Fire. Station, and Police Departments were opened and read aloud. Proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune with an affidavit sigend by C. G. Livengood and in the Record with an affidavit signed by E. E. Hickey are hereby submitted to the Board and found sufficient. The bids received read as follows: POLICE DEPARTMENT Freeman Spicer Company A non -collusion affidavit and a certi- 520 S. Lafayette St. fied check in the amount of $616.00 South Bend, Indiana accompanied the bid. Three(3) 1958 BW4 Studebaker Commanders Deluxe 4-door sedans Total net price ----------- for Three units ----------- $6,153.00 After checking the bid and said bid having met with all requirements as set out in the specifications, the Board now awards said contract to Freeman Spicer Company. CENTRAL ALARM HEADQUARTERS GAmewell Company Newton Upper Falls, Mass. Anon -collusion affidavit and a certified check in the amount of $3800.00 accompanied the bid. Braunsdorf & Son A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's 428 Lincolnway West bond in the amount of 5% of the bid accom- South Bend, Indiana panied the bid. Heating and temperature control work in the Central Fire Station Garage --------------------$16,970.00 Plumbing, drainage, hearing and temperature controls at Central Fire Station garage --------------- ---- $189100.00 Plumbing and Drainage Work at the Central Fire Station Garage --------------------$1,165.00 0. J. Shoemaker, Inc. A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's 1008 Lincolnway East bond in the amount of 5% of the bid accom- South Bend, Indiana panied the bid. Combined heating and temperature control work and the Plumbing and Drainage Work at Central Fire Station ---------------------$21,800.00 Plumbing and Drainage Works at Central Fire Station ---------------------$1,875.00 Heating and Temperature Control Work at Central Fire Station---------------------$20,072.00 United Heating and Plumbing A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's bond 913 W. Indiana Avenue in the amount of 5% of the bid accompanied the South Bend, Indiana bid. Plumbing Work for Central Fire Station ---------------------$1,500.00 Heating Work for Central Fire Station --------------------$15,676.00 Edward J. White, Inc. 1011 S. Michigan Street South Bend, Indiana A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's bond in the amount of 5/ of the bid accom- panied the bid. Plumbing and Heating work for Central Fire Station --------------------$19,175.00 Plumbing Works at Central Fire Station --------------------$1234.00 Heating and Temperature Control Work at Central Fire Station -------------------$17,995.00 The bids were read aloud and will now be taken under advisement and study and contracts will be awarded at a later date.
