A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, June 9,
1958 at 10:00 A.M. (CST). All members were present. Minutes of the previous
regular meeting were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $5883.44
were approved and ordered paid to the following suppliers:

The Clerk of the Board is directed
to advertise for Equipment for Central Alarm
Headquarters Building. Bids
to be
received on the 23rd day of June, 1958 at
10:00 A.M.
The Board hereby approves a Lease made this 9th day of June, 1958 by and be-
tween the Municipal City,of South Bend, hereinafter called Lessor, and the Frat-
ernal Or4ekof Police, hereinafter called Lessee, for certain described real
estate situated in St. Joseph County, State of Indiana to be used by Fraternal
Order of Police to have and to hold for the term of fifty (50) years beginning
on the 9th day of June, 1958 and ending with the 8th day of June, 2008. Lease
on file in the office of the Board of Public Works & SafeW for reference.
Permission is hereby granted to Traffic Engineer, Clement Hazinski, for a mili-
tary leave begining August 2, 1958 through August 17, 1958. This is the two
week period in which the First Shore Party Group Company, United States Marine
Corps Reserve will participate in annual field training at Camp Pendleton,0oean-
side, California.
The monthly -report of the Weights & Measures Department for themonth of May,
1958 as submitted to the Board by Bert S. Cichowicz, City Sealer, is hereby
accepted and placed on file.
Special police bonds are now approved for Albert E. Vascil.
Applications for the South Bend Police Department are now examined and placed
on file for Matthew John Puecker.
Nick Horvath, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, recommends the
installation of the following 4000 lumen street lights:
Randolph and Ironwood Drive
Fox and Ironwood Drive
2209 W. Huron Street
A petition is hereby received from Mr. Leo C. Kwasneski and several others
asking for the improvement for the lighting situation at the intersection of
Brentwood Street and Woodbine Street. Petition is now referred to the City
Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
Beard adjourned the meeting at 10:45 A.M.

A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Wednesday, June 11
at 10:00 A.M. All members were present.
South Bend Police Department
The resignation of Robert, Joseph Molenda, 1326 King Street, South Bend, Indiana
from the South Bend Police Department was approved by the Board at,this time.
A letter has been submitted to the Board from Mr. Robert Molenda and placed on
file to that effect. Resignation of Robert Molenda to be effective as of this
llth day of June, 1958.
There being no further business to come before the Board, it was so announced
and the fneeting was .-.adjourned at 10:25 A.M.
