HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/21/58 Board of Public Works Special Meeting Minutes84 May 21, 1958 A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Wednesday, May 21, 1958 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Police Chief, J. Charles Dutrieux appeared before the Board and submitted the following recommendations of promotions in the South Bend Police Department to the Board for consideration and approval: That Inspector Clement Hazinski be transferred to Traffic Engineer's office to assume duties of Traffic Engineer. That Captain John Klaybor be promoted to rank of Inspector and assume duties.of Inspector of Traffic Division. That Lieut. John Kasprzak be promoted to rank of Captain and retain his present assignment. That Sergeant Matthew Zarembka:_be.promoted to rank of Lieut. and assume duties'of 3rd Detail Commander. That officer John Kreczmer be promoted to rank of Detective Sergeant and be assigned to 4 P.M. to 12 P.M. Detail in Juvenile Division. That Officer Melvin Pasalich be promoted to rank of Sergeant and report to Inspector Klaybor for assignment. The Board now approves recommendations, --,as submitted by the Police Chief and promotions will be effective immediately this 21st day of May, 1958. Mr. Van Gates, President of the Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the Board and requested permission to close Michigan Street between Colfax and Wayne Sts. and to place banners over the street in said area on Monday, May 26, 1958 in honor of "You Auto Byy Now" week. Permission is granted on condition that the banners are put up for that one day only (May 26) and will be takendown at the end of same day.
