The Clerk 9f the Board is hereby directed to advertise for 7 new sedans for the Police Department and also 3 3-wheeled servi-cycles. Bids to be received on the 27th day of January, 1958. Fire Chief Andrzjwwski appeared before the Board and requested permission to attend the Fire Chief's Meeting to be held in Indiapolis, Indiana on Tuesday, January 14, 1958. Alto to take with hiea Battalion Chief Carl Lederer, Captain Robert Rzepka, and Lieutenent Ray Bikowski. Permission granted. 1 The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to advertise for 2 vehicles for the Fire Department and also 1 3-wheeled servi-cycle for the Police Depart- ment. Publications to appear in both the South Bend Tribune and The Record on the 24th and 31st days of January and bids to be received on the 3rd day of February, 1957. The Fire Chief appeared before the Board and requested permission for himself and Ass't. Chief Doran to attend the Fire Administrators Seminar at Purdue Uni- versity in Lafayette, Indiana on the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th days of February, 1958. Permission granted. The time now being after 10:00 A.M. (CST) it was so announced and the bids for the Fire Department were opened. Proofs of publication having appeared before the Board in the South•Bend Tribune and The Record on the loth and 17th day of January, 1958 were submitted to the Board and found sufficient. The bids received read as follows: The Seagrave Corporation A non -collusion affadivat and a Columbus 7, Ohio bidders bond in the amount of $2,700.00 accompanied the bid. One (1) Seagrave Model 900-B-1000 G.F.M. Triple Combination Pumping Engine with canopy cab, 300 H.P. motor, 300 gallon tank, auxiliary high pressure pump and equip- ment as specified for the net sum of ---------------$269553.00 _Great Lakes Fire Eauipment Company A non -collusion affidavit and a (Ward LaFrance Corporation) bidders bond in the amount of Barrington, Illinois $29600.00 accompanied the bid. One(1) Model 1110T Ward LaFrance 1000 GPM Triple Combination Fire Apparatus all in accordance with your published specifications Maxim Motor Company Middleboro, Massachusetts ----------------$25,775.00 A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's bond in the amount of $29600.00 accompanied the bid. One (1)Model 23610 Maxim custom-built motor driven 1,000 gallon pumping engine with side entrance canopy cab, as per your specifications, complete for ---------------$23,997.25 The bids will be taken under advisement and the contract will be awarded at the next regular board meeting or not later than 30 days from this date.
