RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PROCLAIMING
MARCH 12 -18, "SOUTH BEND ENERGY AWARENESS
DAYS."
WHEREAS, energy efficiency is recognized as a key to
easing the energy problem in South Bend and nationwide; and
WHEREAS, the education of the public and the implementa-
tion of the conservation ethic into our lifestyle is vital
to the growth and future welfare of the citizens of South
Bend; and
WHEREAS, increasing the level of public consciousness
toward reserving energy resources for the future will create
better understanding and cooperation as we meet the energy
situation; and
WHEREAS, the recognition of the economic impact of
energy in South Bend and the values of energy conservation
measured by the dollars that can be saved by every citizen
will reaffirm the support behind energy efficiency;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, hereby fully supports "South Bend Energy
Awareness Days" organized for the week of March 12 -18 by
the South Bend Energy Conservation Commission.
SECTION II. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and
approval by the Mayor.
