Dear Council Members,
Attached is a resolution accepting a gift of up to $380,000.00 from
the Messel - Ellisen Trust and the Stanley A. and Flora P. Clark
Community Trust. This grant was graciously offered to the City of
South Bend through the trust department of the National Bank.
Contingent upon the $380,000.00 grant is the fact that the City must
match $100,000.00. As a result of this action this resolution is
being submitted to resolve to appropriate $100,000.00 from 1980's
Revenue Sharing. It is my intent to submit a Revenue Sharing or-
dinance to the Council for lst reading the last meeting in 1979,
with lst reading and public hearing the lst meeting in 1980. However,
as a result of weather, increasing inflation, and other time re-
straints, it is necessary for the Council to indicate their pref-
erence on the receipt of the $380,000.00 grant and the appropriation
of $100,00.00 from 1980's Revenue Sharing.
Your approval of this resolution is requested.
