A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, October 28,
1957 at 10:00 A.M. (CST). All members were present. I+fiinutes of the previous
regular meeting were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $1,637.54
were approved and ordered paid to the following suppliers:

Special police permit applications are now approved for Robert Skodinski and
' Thomas Higgins.
A petition is now received asking for the installation of a street light on the
corner of alley and India Court. Referred to City Electrical Department for in-
vestigation.
Police Officer's reports which were accepted and placed on file were received
from Officer Matt Barczykowski, Officer N. Stachowicz, Officers Cornelis and
Hazinski, and Officer R. Thomas.
The Board hereby approves the appointment of Ralph DeMeyer, Julius Halasz, John
Istenes, James McMahon, Marion Martz, Jerry Szweda, and Robert Tomaszewski to tie
Police Department of the City of South Bend, Indiana. Saidl applicants having
passed all necessary examinations and also having passed physical examinations
by both the City Doctor and Pension Board Doctor, their appointment shall become
effective on the 28th day of October, 1957.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was ad-
journed at 10:30 A.M. (CST).
