Wheel Cleaners 7.74 82.50 10.70 26.43 The following is a supplement to the minutes of our.previous Board.meeting which washeld on Monday, May 27, 1957. " The Board hereby approves the appointment of Louis Robert Kovach to the Fire Department of the City of South Bend, Indiana. Said applicant having passed the necessary examinations and also having passed physical examinations by both the City Doctor and Pension Board Doctor, his appointment shall become effective as of June 1, 1957:" The monthly report of the Police Department for May, 1957 is hereby accepted and placed on file in the office of the Board of Public Works & Safety. Applications for the Fire Department were examined and placed on file for William M. Arbuckle. Special police officer bonds were approved for Andrew Kovatch, Albert Akerberg, and John Plummer, and Allen E. Kester, Jr. Nick Horvath recommends the installation of a 4000 lumen light at 3610 E Jefferson Boulevard. The Board now approves the recommendation of the Electrical Superintendent and the light will be installed immediately. There being no further business to come at 10:30 A.M. (DST). before the Board, the meeting was r i CHAIRMAN ., ....� �.., 1957 adjourned . A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, June 10, 1957 at 10:00 A.M. (DST). All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved. Walz, fnc. 78.25 Western Union Telegraph Co. 11.23 Police Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board requesting permission to attend the Indiana Association of Police Chief's Convention to the held in Indiana on June 19, 20, 21, and 229 1957. Permission granted. Bloomington, This being the date set, hearing was held on charges against Officer Leonard Brooks, Jr., 1711 Longley Avenue, South Bend, Indiana in violation of Rules 59 15, and 20 of the Rules and Regulations of the South Bend Police Department. Charges regarding same were filed in the office of the Board of Public Works & Safety on June 13, 1957. Notice of said hearing to be held at 10:60 A.M. (DST) on June 179 1957 before the Board of Public Works and Safety was served upon by Leonard Brooks, Jr. personally and Sgt. Nicholas, #129 served the same on Leonard Brooks, Jr. personally on the 13th day of June, 1957. Leonard Brooks, Jr. having appeared before the Board of Public Works and Safety on this 17th day of June, 1957 admits that he is in violation of Rule #5, in that he did not report for duty.
