A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was heldon Monday, April 229 1957 at
10:OOA.M. (CST). All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting
were read and approved., Claims in the total�.amount of $59916.85 were approved and

Upon recommendation of the Chief of Police, J. Charles Dutrieux, the Board now approves
the promotion of Officer Earl Paffenbach to the rank of Sergeant effective April 26,
1957.
Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board and requested permission to enter the Pistol
Team in the Indiana State Gallery Championship matches to be held at Muncie, Indiana
on April 28, 1957.
Fire Chief requests permission for himself and Chief Lederrer to attend the Fire Ad-
visory Committee meeting at Purdue University on May 27, 1957. Permission granted.
Captain Trevey of Civil Defense is hereby authorized to proceed with the painting of
the one room in the No.3 Hose House which will be used for the purpose of Civil De-
fense business as per the proposal of C. L. Miller Company for the total amount of
$128.00.
Nick Horvath recommends the installation of 4000 lumen light at the 1500 block of -North
Chicago Street and also at 1115 Lindsey Street. Board approves the recommendation of
the Electrical Department Superintendent.
There being no further business to come beforethe Board, them ting was adjourned at
11:00 A.M. (CST).
