A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. (CST).
All members were present.
The Board has received and accepted the resignation from the South Bend Police Depart-
mentof one Patrolman Carl Moore, Jr., effective as of March 2, 1957. The resignation
being duly signed and notarized at 11:05 A.M. on March 21 1957 and the Board took
recognition and acceptance at 11:30 A.M. (CST).
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at
10:15 A.M. (CST). ,

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, March 49 1957.at
10:00 A.M. (CST). All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting
were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $3,581.47 were approved and or-
dered paid to the following suppliers:

Application for special police permits were approved for Clarence J. Meyers and Charles
Wilson Smith. Also a bond covering the application of said Smith was approved by the
Board.
Applications' for the Fire Department were approved and placed on file for Richard Casi-
mer Orasz and Harold Ruscio.
The February, 1957 monthly report of the Police Department is hereby accepted and placed
on file.
Wilman L. Welch submitted to the Board his request for retirement from the Police Depart-
ment of the City of South Bend, Indiana. Police Chief Dtitrieux having advised the Board
that said Welch has completed 20 hears of service with the Police Department, the Board
now approves the retirement and termination of pay for Welch will be effective as of
March 15, 1957.
There being no further business to come before theBoard, the meeting was adjourned at
10.35 A.M. (CST). I
