A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
January 11, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the
last regular meeting were read and approved. No vouchers were approved
for payment.

Comes now Richard Liszewski, Sub;=Standard Division Supervisor, and requests
permission of the Board to advertise for demolition for the following
structures, owned by Mrs. Lottis King:
715 Marietta Avenue
712 Marietta Avenue
234 E. Sample Street
Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that these structures were in bad condition
and the houses were filled with debris and the outside piled with litter.
Mr. Liszewski submitted snap shots of the interiors and exteriors of the
properties to substantiate his statements.
Mr. Liszewski also pointed out to the Board that Mrs. King had been called
b efore the Board on numerous occasions in an effort to get the structures
up to standard and had failed to comply.
After hearing Mr. Liszewski, the Board granted his request to advertise for
demolition and to so advise Mrs. King of this intention.
Mr. Liszewski also requested permission to advertise for demolition for
the following properties:
322 S. Laurel Street, owned by Steve Nagy, represented by attorney
Peter Nemeth.
1321 Elliott Street, owned by Robert Cooper, represented by attorney
Peter Nemeth.
Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that Peter Nemeth knew of this intention
and had no objection to demolition orders.
The Board advised Mr. Liszewski to proceed with demolition and advertise
for bids.
TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( TRAFFIC SIGNS INSTALLATIONS
Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, the following
installations were approved:
1 Stop Sign & Posts at the S.W. corner of Bronson and Sunnyside.
Stop Signs and Posts on Belmont at Sunnyside.
ELECTRICAL DEPARaAENT ( STREET LIGHT INSTLLATION - AI NAIL )
Following the recommendation of Eugene Radecki, Electrical Department
Supervisor, the Board approved the following installation:
1 - 6000 lumen street light at corner of Miami Road and Fairfax
Drive on Pole No. J350 -6.

Ca.UESST FOR STREET LIGHT
A Petition from residents of W. Ewing Avenue requesting the installation of
a street light on a pole at the rear of 1720 W. Ewing Avenue, corner of
Glenn and alley of City limits was referred to Eugene Radecki, Electrical
Department for investigation and recommendation.

PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE EM BIDS ( PO ICE DELA&TWENT ),
At the request of Chief Hampton, the Board granted permission to the
Police Department to advertise for 24 new 1965 four door sedans and
1 new 1965 four door (6 passenger) station wagon, suitable to be used
for an ambulet.
Advertisements will be placed in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County
News on January 15 and January 22, 1965. Sealed bids will be opened
on February 1, 1965 at 10:00 A.M.

An application for the Police Department from Thomas John Hill was
accepted and ordered placed on file.
APPLICATION: Fla DEPARTMENT
An application for the Fire Department fran Ronald Leonard Pawlak was
accepted and ordered placed on file.

A Report for the month of December, 1964 from the Building Department
was accepted and ordered placed on file.
A Report for the year'1964 from the Building Department was accepted and
ordered placed on file.

A Report for the month of December from the Department of Weights &
Measures was accepted and ordered placed on file.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.
There being no further business to core before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:00 A.M.
