RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY ADMIN-
ISTRATION FILE AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR
THE PURPOSE OF DEFREYING THE EXPENSE OF PROVIDING
A FIRE WORKS DISPLAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
ETHNIC FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend recognizes
that the annual Ethnic Festival which has taken place within the City
has been a festive and successful program, and
WHEREAS, the Council recognizes that a part of the success of
this program is the highly attended fire works display, and
WHEREAS, the celebration of the Ethnic Festival and the Fourth
of July are key examples of the type of warm fellowship generated
within our community, and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that there is not only the
need but also an overwhelming interest by our citizens to have our
own fire works display in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival and
the celebration of the Fourth of July.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. That the Common Council recommends the City Administration
to file an appropriation ordinance for a sum not to exceed Ten Thousand
Dollars ($10,000.00) for the purpose of defraying the expense of providing
a fire works display in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival and the
Fourth of July.
SECTION II. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.
