A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
June 1, 1964 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the
last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved
and ordered paid to the various suppliers.
AWARDING BID• FIM DEPAR RADIO RECE & SIGNALING DEVICE
After examination, it appearing that the following bid which was the
only bid received, is in accordance with the specifications for the
radio equipment required, it is now awarded:
Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc.
4900 W. Flournoy St.
Chicago 44, Ill.
15- Motorola FM Monitor Receivers $3,255.00
1-Motorola Selective Signaling Device 780.00
1-Motorola VHF Radio, pager 381..00
Total $4,446.00
TRAFFIC ENGINEER: TRAFFIC SIGNS
Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the following
installations were approved:
Yield Sign installed on Dogwood Drive, southeast corner, at
Mayflower Circle
30 Minute Time Limit signs installed on, east side of 600 block
N. Michigan Street from Navarre Street to Dinan Court.
POLICE DEPARTMENT (-SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION - MCGEE )
A Special Police Commission for Bud McGee, employed by Walter W.
Jenczewski, Private Investigator, was approved pending receipt and
approval of a Special Police Bond.
APPLICATION: POLICE I3EPARTIV�NT
An application for the Police Department from Thomas Bruce Wroblewski
was accepted and ordered placed on file.
WEIGHTS & 1EASURES ( MONTHLY REPORT )
A report from the Department of Weights & Measures for the month
of April, 1964 was accepted and ordered placed on file.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -.STANDARD DIV. ,( HEARINGS )
Comes now Mr. John Grabarz, of the Sub -.Standard Division of the Building
Department, and Mr. Melvin Taylor, owner of property commonly described
as 830 S. Rush Street.
Mr. Taylor was called before this Board to show cause why he has failed
to complete demolition of the structure on the above -described property
as ordered in 1961.
After hearing Mr. Taylor who thought structure could be repaired and
after hearing Mr. Grabarz who advised the Board that the present structure
was unsafe and having examined photographs of the subject property, it
was the decision of the Board that demolition be completed in two weeks
or the Board would order structure demolished and charged to the owner.

Comes now Mr. Roland Grant, owner of property at 1629 Linden Avenue
to show cause why a Root Beer Barrell, stand located in the rear of
this property has not been either boarded up or removed, in accordance
with an agreement made in March, 1964.
By order of the Board, after hearing Mr. Grant and Mr. Grabarz, it
was agreed that the standbemade secure by June 15, 1964.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:30 A.M.
