Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana May 28, 19 30 Approved and signed by me oZ 0 19 City Clerk Mayor RESOLUTION NO. 7 ,�-_7_e,) A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, DESIGNATING THE WEEK OF JUNE 16, 1980, POLISH NATIONAL ALLIANCE CENTENNIAL WEEK IN OUR COMMUNITY WHEREAS, the Polish National Alliance was founded on February 15, 1880, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Industrialist Julius Andrzejkowicz; and WHEREAS, the Polish National Alliance was founded to assist Polish immigrants throughout the Country in self -help and cultural measures; and WHEREAS, since its founding, the Polish National Alliance has been responsible for many landmark achievements at the local and national levels; and WHEREAS, the Polish National Alliance has grown today into 16 Districts, 206 Councils, and 1,200 Lodges, which are located in 39 of our 50 states; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend recognizes the many contributions of its Polish - American citizens and the Polish National Alliance in this community; and WHEREAS, the Council further recognizes this proud and rich cultural heritage, and desires to be a part of the Centennial Celebration of the Polish National Alliance presently going on throughout our country. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I: That the Citizens of South Bend, through their Common Council recognize and congratulate the Polish National Alliance for their many fine contributions to the community and to our nation. SECTION II: That the Common Council hereby designates the week of June 16, 1980, as Polish National Alliance Centennial Week in our community. SECTION III. That effect from and after by the Mayor.
