HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/30/63 Board of Public Works MinutesGXT December 302 1963 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, December 309 1963 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( DEMOLITION BID) Comes now John Grabarz and advises the Board that he had readvertised for bids for demolition of property located at 813 W. Jefferson Blvd., owned by Mr. Leonard Campanale and that, once again, only one bid had been received. This bid was from the following company: A & J Demolition Co. With salvage $375.00 Without salvage 390.00 it was the opinion of the Board that, since only one bid had been received this matter should be continued and disposition made by the new Board of Public Safety. Case continued. TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( TRAFFIC SIGN INSTALLATION The Boards on December 23, 1963, approved the following installation•, following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer: 12 Minute Parking At This Meter sign installed on meter post in front of 111 W. Jefferson Blvd, ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET' LIGHTS ) Following the recommendation of the Electrical Department, the Board approved the following installations and removals: Remove 4-6000 lumen street lights on Mishawaka Avenue between Esther and Greenlawn and in its place install 6-21,000 lumen street lights. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. POLICE DEPARTMENT ( MONTHLY REPORT) The Board accepted a Report for the month of November, 1963 from the Police Department and ordered same placed on file. Andrzejewski as President of. the Firemen's Pension Fund stated that'the.Boaid.of Trustees of the Pension Fund had acted favorably upon the petition of Fire Chief Alex Andrzejewski to retire, effective January 1, 1964. The letter will be turned over to the new Board of Public Safety for whatever procedure the Board will take. HEALTH DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE Mr. Stephen Molnar, representing the Department of Health, was present at the meeting as a representative of that Department. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:45 A.M., after having been recessed at 10:30 A.M. and redonvened at 11:30 A.M. Chairman Attest: Anth ny .
