HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/09/63 Board of Public Works Minutes5 December 9;» 1963 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, December 9, 1963•at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS Comes now John Brabarz, Sub -Standard Supervisor and James Crawford, owner of property located at 107 O'Brien Street to show cause why property which was condemned on November 8, 1963. Mr. Crawford and his wife requested additional time to bring property up to standard. At the request of Mr. and Mrs. Crawford for additional time, the Board ruled that the case be continued mntil December 30, 1963 at which time the interior will be completed. This extension was satisfactory to Mr. and Mrs. Crawford. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS ) Following the.recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Electrical Department Superintendent, the following installations were approved: 1 = 4000 lumen street light at 1114 S. Fellows Street. 1 - 4000 lumen street light at 818 24th Street. 1 - 4000 lumen street light at 725 W. LaSalle Avenue. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. RETIREMENTS: POLICE DEPARTMENT HADRICK AND MINNES The Board accepted the requests of the following police officers for- i9tireinent from the Police Department: 1. Captain Louis M. Hadrick to be placed on terminal leave starting December 8, 1963 to December 22, 1963 inclusive. On December 23, 1963 to be retired from the Department after 21 years, 9 months with the Department. 2. Cpl. L. Minnes requests retirement on December 25, 1963 after 21 years and 8 months with the Department. The Board directed that letters be sent to both officers, thanking.them .for their`1any years of service and wishing them well in future endeavors. APPLI CA 0X6,: �]LI Cam. DEPARTMENT An application f6,x the Police Department from Willie Vinson Green was accepted and ordered placed on file. An application from Michael Edward Lewis for the Police Department was accepted and ordered placed on file. SPECIAL POLICE BONDD ZYMSLO A Special Police Bond for Richard J. 7ymsio, employed by The Torrington Company was approved and ordered placed on file. POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT A report from the Police Department for the month of October, 1963 was accepted and ordered place�--file. APPLICATION: FIRE DEPARTMENT An application for the Fire Department from Michael Edward Lewis was accepted and ordered placed on file. An application for the Fire Department from Timothy Brassell was accepted and ordered placed on file. BUILDING DEPARTMENT: REPORT A Report for the month of November, 1963 from the;. -Building Department was accepted and ordered placed on file. WEIGHTS & MEASURES: REPORT A Report for the month of November, 1963 from the Department of Weights & Measures was accepted and ordered placed on file. Mr. Bert Cichowicz, City Sealer, appeared before the Board to express his appreciation to the Board. At. Cichowicz stated that he had always received complete cooperation from the Board and the City Administration which made his job much easier to accomplish.
