BUILDING -DEPARTMENT ( HOUSE MOVE-SUNNYMEDE)_ With reference to a proposed house move from 601 Eddy Street to 1107 Sunnymede which hearing was continued for two weeks to allow residents of area to bring in engineer to inspect said house, comes now Mr. Louis Smogor, Building Commissioner, and informs the Board that no report from any engineer or finding of said engineer has been received by the Building Department. He further states that said house is in good condition and that sufficient insurance will be obtained to protect property owners and residents. The Board, having been assured by the Building Department and the mover of said house that the house will blend in with the surrounding neighbor- hood residences and that said house will be ready.for occupancy not later than 60 days after moving to new location now approves the move. BUILDING DEPARTMENT HOUSE MOVE _DAIRY QUEEN With reference to a proposed house move from 1043 Lincolnway West to 616 N. Walnut Street, comes now J. F. Nimtz, apppearing for Dairy Queelh of St. Joseph County, Inc., owner of said dwelling and states that the owner's desire not to go against the wishes of the neighborhood had prompted him to purchase lot located at 520 Cottage Grove Avenue. Said house will not be moved to the Walnut Street address. The owner now requests permission to move house to 520 Cottage Grove Avenue. Comes now Mr. Jack Lindley, 604 Cottage Groove Avenue who states that residents of area had received only four days notice of the proposed move. He requests additional time in order to investigate condition of house to be moved and become more, familiar with the provisions of the move. The Board suggested that Mr. Lindley,be advised of the conditions by the Building Department and, if he is not satisfied, hearing will be continued for one week. However, after meeting with the Building Department and become acquainted with the provisions of the proposed move, Mr. Lindley withdraws his request-forea continuance. House move is therefore approved, under the usual conditinns, - meeting all code requirements and Building Department regulations. TRAFFIC ENGINEERLTRAFFIC SIGNS Following the recommendation of the installations are approved: Traffic Engineer, the following No Parking This Side signs installed on north side of 200 block of West Indiana from Lafayette to Pennsylvania railroad tracks. No Parking On Sunday Morning signs installed on East Dayton. Street in 1100 block on north side of street. No Parking sign installed on Colfax Avenue, south-east corner of Scott Street at end of yellow zone. POLICE DEPARTMENT KASPRZAK RETIREMENT At the recommendation of the Chief of Police, the Board approved the retirement of Captain John F. Kazprzak, effective May 19 1963. The Board also approved his Terminal Leave commencing April 16, 1963 and ending April 30, 1963. Captain Kasprzak at the time of his retirement will have completed 21 years, 53 days on the Police Force or from March 9,_ 1942 to April 30, 1963, inclusive. POLICE DEPARTMENT ACCIDENT REPORT) A non -injury accident report from the Police Department was accepted by the Board and ordered placed on file. TRAFFIC ENGINEER ATTEND MEETING Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, was given permission to attend meetings in Indianapolis to discuss matters concerning traffic with the State Highway Commission at a time convenient to all parties concerned. REQUEST: FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNUAL BALL The Board approved the request of the Fire Department's Firemen's Association to hold the annual ball on September 79 1963 at the University of Notre Dame Stepan Centex. REQUEST: REGISTRATION OF LITTLE LEAGUE FIRE STATION NO. 3 The Board granted a request from the East Side Little League to hold their registration in Fire Station No. 3, April 6 and 79 1963 between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00 P.M. each day. FIRE DEPARTMENT ( VANWIELE - ATTEND ARSON SCHOOL ) Permission was granted to Battalion Chief Oscar VanWiele to attend the Arson School at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana from April 22 to 26, 1963. APPLICATION ( METER MAID, An application from Mary Elizabath Madison for Meter Maid was accepted and ordered placed on file. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:45 A.M.
