A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
August 13, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. DST. All members were present.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers
were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS
,Comes now Mr. Virgil Place and represents himself as appearing for
and on behalf of Miss Daar with reference to demolition of property
owned by her and located at 513-15 Pennsylvabla Avenue. Mr. Place
requested that demolition orders be withheld in order to give him
sufficient time to determine the possibility of rebuilding these
structures.
After hearing Mr. Place, it was the decision of the Board to continue
this case until September 242 1962.
With reference to property owned by Mr. Blair and located at 502
29th Street, the Board was informed by the Sub -Standard Division
representative that the property had now been back -filled. This
was done by the owner.
At the request of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department
this case was continued until August 27, 1962.
A hearing on property located at 1312 W. Jefferson was continued
until August 20, 1962 in order to allow owner to ascertain what
he wishes to do concerning this property.
A hearing scheduled for this date for property located at 660 Laporte
Avenue was continued until August 20, 1962.
CERTIFICA_T_E OF INSURANCE ( M. GILBERT AND SONS COMPANY - REMODELING
A Certificate of Insurance covering Bodily Injury and Property Damage
in connection with the M. Gilbert and Sons Company proposed new building
front was accepted by the Board and ordered placed on file.
APPROVAL: SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION
The Board approved a Special Police Commission and Bond for Harold Kerns
who is employed by the Walter Detective Agency as a 'Merchant Policeman.
The Commission and Bond were ordered to be placed on file.
APPROVAL: SPECIAL POLICE BONDS
The Board approved Bonds for the following Special Police Officers who
are employed by Studebaker Local No. 5: Steve J. Toth and Harry Swartz.
The Board also approved a Bond renewal for Kenneth Robert McCarthy who
is a Special Police Officer.
All the above Bonds are ordered placed on file.
APPLICATIONS: POLICE DEPARTMENT
The following applications for the Police Department were accepted and
ordered placed on file: Calvin James Everly and Bernard Joseph Rouhselang.

STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned at 10:45 A.M.
