A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
July 9, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. DST. All members were present. Minutes
of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were
approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers.
AWARDING OF BID - FIRE DEPARTMENT (1500 GAL. PUMPER_)
After examination of the bid submitted by the following supplier,
it was the decision of the Board to award such bid, which is as
follows:
Maxim Motor Co.
Middleboro, Mass.
1 - Maxim Custom Built Pumper - Model F-26215 1500 Gal.
Triple Combination Motorized Pumping Fire Apparatus
in accordance with specifications $30,590.74
Above price includes radio, as per specifications
INSTALLED
If uninstalled basis desired, deduct from above $$45.00
It is the decision of the Board to award this bid, including
radio, uninstalled.
Total bid price
$30,545.74
REPORT: COUNCILMAN MUSZYNSKIIS COMPLAINT (TRUCK TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS
POLICE DEPARTMENT_
A detailed report from the Police Department concerning the complaint
of Councilman Muszynski with reference to truck traffic through Swygard
Street and Indiana Avenue between Prairie and Walnut was submitted
to the Board.
The Police Department reported, in part, that a notice was put out for
officers working in the area mentioned above be on the lookout for all
violations and to find out who the violators are. The Department also
reported that each complaint will be handled, and an attempt made to
lessen any truck complaints, and if they are in violation, tickets will
be given and the company owners will be advised. The trucking companies
in the area are in full cooperation.
The report was examined by the Board and ordered placed on file and the
Clerk directed to report findings to the Common Council.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( HOUSE MOVE - ELWOOD & ELMER )
With reference to a proposed house move from 220 W. Navarre Street to
Elwood and Elmer Streets, said move being handled by Irving Worden
who also owns the property in question, after investigation and due
deliberation, it was the decision of the Board that, because of the
long range program that the City has in mind to widen Elwood Avenue
at some later date, the request of Ns. Worden to move said house to
this property was denied.
RE: HOUSE MOVE ( EUUM & ELEWOOD ) LETTER FROM WHITCOME & KELLER
A letter from R. Park Wickizer, President of the Whitcome & Keller
Mortgage Co., Inc., with reference to Lot #16, Woolfer's Proposed
SE corner Elmer & Elwood concerning the possible sale to the City
of this lot which was recently purchased from Whitcome & Keller by
Irvin Worden was submitted to the Board.
The letter was examined and ordered placed on file.

BUILDING DEPT. ( SUB -STANDARD DIV. ) HEARINGS
Comes now Mrs. Allean Franklin, :_cojowner'-wth Jesse Franklin of property
located at 1613 S. William St., and requested an extension of time in
which to bring the property up to'standard:

The Annual Report and a. Report for the month of June from the Dept.
of Weights & Measures were accepted and ordered placed on file.

Renewal of a Special Police Bond for Robert Louis Kingsafet was approved
and ordered placed- on file -.-

'An application from Jerry Lee Keller for the Police Department was
accepted and ordered placed on file.

An application from Clarence Julius Kaminski for the Fire.Department was
accepted and ordered placed on. file.
There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was
adjourned at 10:45 A.M.
