A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
February 19, 1962 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. Minutes
of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were
approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING)
Comes now Robert K. Rodibaugh, attorney representing Miss Daar, owner of
sub -standard property located at 512-515 Pennsylvania Avenue, and states
that Miss Daar had requested that he plead for an extension of time to
allow for the repairs to be made to the property in order to bring it up
to standard.
After hearing Mr. Rodibaugh, it was the decision of the Board that the
hearing be continued until July 2, 1962 at which time the property must
be up to standard or the property will be ordered demolished.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT HOUSE MOVE
Comes now Verner Lane and requests permission to m_ove.;a house from
E 517 S. Eddy Street to 936 S. Oakland, South Bend. The owner of the
house is John Nemeth, house mover is Irvin Worden.
Verner Lane stated that the house has been inspected and list of recommended
repairs has'been made. Also, that the necessary affidavits are on file.
After hearing Mr. Lane, it was the decision of the Board that the move
be allowed contingent on the various repairs being made, that a
Maintenance Bond and insurance of indemnification be secured.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING
Comes now John Grabarz and Mr. Morgan, owner of property located at 601
Pennsylvania Avenue.
Mr. Grabarz explained to the Board that Mr. Morgan, who is a tenant in
the house, has not vacated the premises as ordered so that repairs can
be made. Mr. Morgan is now on relief.
After hearing Mr. Grabarz and Mr. Morgan, it was the decision of the
Board that Mr. Grabarz coordinate matters with the Trustee and the hearing
was continued until March 5, 1962.
POLICE AUXILIARY APPLICATIONS
The following applications for Police
and ordered placed on file: Jeanette
Fairchild amd Ruth Elberta Dingman.
Auxiliary School Patrol were accepted
Evelyn Jimerson, Sharmaine Audrey
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was
adjourned at 10:30 A.M. n ,1
