INFORMAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL JANUARY 9, 2017 5:45 P.M.
Present: Tim Scott, Regina Williams- Preston, Gavin Ferlic, Karen White, Oliver Davis,
Jo M. Broden, Aladean DeRose, Adriana Rodriguez, Kareemah Fowler, and
Alkeyna Aldridge

Council President Tim Scott called the meeting to order. The Council went over the agenda for
that night's formal Council meeting and detailed the recommendations for each bill from the
various committees.
Council President Tim Scott expressed to Councilmembers the necessity to schedule their
organizational meetings before the end of February. He shared that committee meetings would
now only be allowed on the first and third Mondays and Wednesdays of each month. The Office
of the City Clerk would follow up with a schedule detailing filing deadlines.
Council went on to collectively share upcoming events, including: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
and several pending Council training events.
Council President Scott shared that he'd like to schedule an executive session after the January
23rd meeting.
City Clerk Kareemah Fowler assured Council President Scott that proper notice would be sent
and gave Council a heads up on upcoming Council priorities and year -end requirements.
ss, Council President Scott adjourned the meeting at 6:13 p.m.
