RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
ON TEMPORARY PARKING ON COLFAX AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City of South Bend Board of Public Works ("Board") is the
contracting body for the City of South Bend, Indiana ("City"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 20-3(a)(2) of the City of South Bend Code of
Ordinances, the Board has the authority to specify parking restrictions to certain streets, alleys,
or municipal parking facilities or parts thereof; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to a certain ground lease between the City and the University of
Notre Dame ("Notre Dame") dated December 12, 2016, Notre Dame will need access to adjacent
property to establish a hydroelectricity facility in Seitz Park; and
WHEREAS, as result of the planned construction of the hydroelectricity facility, the City
needs to establish parking along Colfax Avenue (see Exhibit A attached hereto) to temporarily
accommodate fourteen (14) parking spots ("Parking") to offset the parking spaces temporarily
negated by the construction in and around Seitz Park; and
WHEREAS, the Parking is temporary in nature; and
BE IT RESOLVED that temporary Parking shall be established along Colfax Avenue
consistent with Exhibit A.
