HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/17/68 Board of Public Works MinutesJune 17, 1968. A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 10:10 A.M. Present were James A. Bickel and Lloyd S. Taylor. The rpinutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. Mr. Bickel acted as chairman. RETIREMENT - POLICE DEPARTMENT - LEONARD PAUL PASTRICK Requestcforr&tirem,tht::from'_the South Bend Police Department by officer Leonard Paul Pastrick as of 6/16/68, having served more than 23 years, was accepted and approved by the Board. STREET SIGNS APPROVED The following recommendations by the Traffic Engineering Department were approved by the Board: Stop sign on Raymond Court at Haney Street Stop sign on Chestnut at Napier Street Stop sign and post on Fox Street_at Ironwood Paint curb 401. 30 Speed limit signs (4) on N. Twyckenham Drive. REMOVAL OF PARKING METERS - 300 BLOC VON N. MAIN STREET Upon the recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department, the Board approved the removal of meters #25 and #27 on the west side of the 300 block of N. Main Street in order to provide for vehicular flow. The intersection of Main and Madison Streets has been redesigned to increase the radius at the southwest quadrant. CONTINUATION CERTIFICATES - SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS' BONDS Certificates continuing special police officers' bonds were approved by the Board as follows: Edward Radecki - to 7/1/69 by Capco General Agency, Inc. Robert L. Kingsafer - to 7/8/69 by Bath Insurance Agency STATISTICAL REPORT - POLICE DEPARTMENT Statistical report for the month of May, 1968, for the Police Department was ordered filed. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street light outage reports for the period 6/6/68 to 6/13/68 were ordered filed. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 11:00 A.M. AT Clerk 1
