April 29, 1968.
A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety met at 10:00 A:M. on
April 29, 1968, with Arthur W. Frisk and Lloyd S. Taylor present.
RESIGNATION FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT - KEITH L. FRY
The resignation of Keith L. Fry from the Police Department on 4/26/68 was
accepted'lbythe Board. Police Officer Fry stating that he was "unsatisfied
with the work."
SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS - APPOINTMENTS
Certificate of appointment of Fire Chief McHenry as a special police officer
for the South Bend Fire Department was filed.
Applications for special police officers by Frank Jankowski and Neal L. Hans,
as employees of the City Court, were approved by the Board.
TRAFFIC SIGN CHANGES
Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, reports to the Board that the Traffic
Engineering Department has replaced the present two-hour limit signs on
the south side of Mishawaka Avenue, from 3602 to 3612, to thirty -minute
limits.
The recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department that the"four-way
stop" ait Northside Boulevard and East Sample Street be changed to "two-way
stop," with Northside being a preverential Street, was approved by the Board.
The Traffic Engineering Department stating that the use of Northside
Boulevard should be encouraged since travel across the St. Joseph River has
been provided by the Cooper Bridge.
CANCELLATION OF BOND AS SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER - ROBERT RANDEL HENRY
Robert Randel Henry having returned Special Police Badge (No. 536) and resigned
as special police officer, his bond, at the request of Wilkinson Insurance
Agency, cancelled by the Board.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS - for the period 4/18/68 to 4/25/68 were filed
There being no further business to come before he Board, the meeting ad-
journed at 11:30 A.M.
