December 26, 1967.
The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was opened at
10:00 A.M., with all members present.
REQUEST FOR REDUCTION IN RANK BY GEORGE KROVITCH
Request made by.George Krovitch, lieutenant on the South Bend Fire Depart-
ment, for reduction in rank from lieutenant to private, by letter under
date of December 21, 1967, having been approved by.the Chief of the South
Bend Fire Department and the Chief having informed the Board that the
request should be approved effective as of December 16, 1967, said request
is hereby granted and approved by the Board, effective as of December 16,
1967.
REQUEST TO BE PLACED ON PENSION BY CORNELIUS NICHOLAS
Police officer Cornelius Nicholas, detective sergeant in the South Bend
Police Department, having, by letter dated December 22. 1967, submitted
his request to be retired from the South Bend Police Department for the
reason that he has completed 20 years of active service in said Depart-
ment and is now eligible to a pension, and said request having been approved
by the Chief of'the South Bend Police Department, and the Board being in-
formed that 'such request is in order for approval, said request for re-
tirement is hereby approved and grantediby the Board, effective January
15, 1968.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
The street light outage reports for the week were ordered filed by the
Boa rd .
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
