The regular meeting of the Board of Public works and Safety was called to order
at 10:00 A. M. with all members present. The minutes of the p#�Qvious meeting
were read and approved.
PRCMOTIONS OF THE SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT
In the best interest of the Police Department, the Chief of Police, Thomas H.
McNaughton havingreeommendedhat the following police officers be promoted
to the ranks as following:
Sgt. Ralph Wolfe to Lieutenant (Community Relations)
Officers Paul Harvey, Marvin Martz, Michael Borkowski and Paul Losei
promoted to Sergeant.
It is now recommended unanimously by the Board of Public Works and Safety
that the preceding listed officers be promoted to these ranks effective December,
1, 1967.
DEMOTIONS OF THE SOU`Y = POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Chief of Police has also recommended that Sgts. Daniel Radman and Floyd
Chrapliwy be demoted to Patrolman in the best interests of the department.
The Board now votes unanimously to approve these demotions effective December 1,
1967.
REQUEST OF FIRE CHIEF
Fire Chief McHenry requested permission from the Board to attend the Great Lakes
Division Conference of the international Association of Fire Chiefs in Chicago,
1111nois on December 1, 2nd and 34d, 1967. The Board approved the request.
BONDS FOR SPECIAL POLICE
A Special Police Bond for the various special police officers of the South Bend
Tribune was approved and filed by the Board.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS 11
The Street light outage reports for the week were filed by the Board.
There being no further business, the meeting w>q adjourned.
