DuComb, James A. Bickel and Llpyd S. Taylor present. PRCUOTION OF POLICE OFFICERS Thomas H. McNaughton, Chief of Police, of the South Bend Police Department, having this date recommended to the Board of P-dblic Works and Safety that the following police officers be promoted to the rank as hereby designated: Lieut. Gerald Knepper to Captain Sergt. Kenneth McDonald to Lieutenant Patrolman Robert Werntz to Sergeant Patrolman Enery Molnar to Detective Sergeant/ The Board of Safety being duly advised, by resolution passed this date, unanimously 4_ appoints these officers to the rank designated effective September 1, 1967. RETIREMENT OF SERGEANT F' W FOSS - SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTU ENT Detective Sergeant F. W. Voss of the South Bend Police Department having filed with the Board his request to retire effective October 7, 1967 by reason of his having completed twenty years of service in that department as of that date, this request is hereby approved by unanimous consent of the Board. RELEASE OF SPECIAL POLICMAAN'S BOND - FERRELC. KERN A special policeman's bond for Ferrel C. Kern was released by the Board. SPECIAL POLICENIEI\T `.. APPOINTMENT Mr. Delbert A. Smith of 52057 Central Avenue was appointed as a Special Police Officer for the Bendix Corporation. ,POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATIONS Applications for the police department were filed for Arthur Alex.Langel, Jr. and Dean Allen Tinkel. REgUEST OF FIRE CHIEF TO ATTEND INTERNATIONAL FIRE CHIEFS CONFERENCE. Fire Chief Cecil TvIcHenry requested permission to attend the International Fire Chiefs Conference in SanFrancisco, California September 9th throgghSeptember 14 1967. Approval was granted. RETIREMENT FRU i FIRE DEPARTMENT - RAT40ND M. GORSKI Fireman Raymond M. Gorski having this date submitted to the Board of Public Works and Safety his application and declaration for retirement from the South Bend Fire Departme: Department, and having shown to the Board that he has performed 26 years of service his voluntary retirement is hereby accepted effective September 1, 1967.
