HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/10/67 Board of Public Works MinutesJuly 10, 1967 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order at 10:00 A. M. with all merbbers present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. REQUEST FOR TRANSFER OF FUNDS -FIRE DEPARTMENT Fire Chief McHenry submitted a request for a transfer of funds to cover the following: $1,400 from Q-11, Services Personnel to Q-43 Repair parts. The request was ordered filed and a copy given to Mr. Bickel. FIREMAN TO ATTEND RESERVE CAMP - FIREMAN LARRY S. NITKA F-`:rechief McHenry submitted a letter requesting permission for fireman Larry S. Nitka to attend a twelve day training period starting July.16th at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. He will leasre on July 15th. The Board approved same. .EIB= 10 ATTEND RESERVE CAMP - FIB= CHARLES J. STEEIg Fire Chief McHenry submitted a letter requesting permission for fireman Charles J. Steeleto report to Camp McCoy, Wisconsin from July 16th to July 29, 1967. The Board approved same. RESIGNATION OF POLICEMAN - FRED GANTERT Police Chief McNaughton appeared before the Board and submitted the request of officer Fred Gantert; Mr. DuComb gave the following report: Officer Fred Gantert of the South Bend Police Department having this date submitted his resignation as a member of said department for the reason that he is accepting other employment, same is hereby accepted effective July 19, 1967. TRAFFIC REPORT - CLEM HAZINSKI Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, asked that the following be added to the Board of Works minutes STOP sign & post on Ardmore at Brentwood STOP sign at SE corner of Burbank and Linden STOP sign at SE corner of Linden and Walton STOP sign at SE corner go Gladstone and Lien STOP sign at SE corner of Edison and Linden STOP sign at SE corner of Albert and Linden YIELD sign at SE corner of Hill and South Bend Avehue The Board approved same. POLICE MAN BOND - SPECIAL POLICE A special police bond was approved for Ernest Franklin Brown of 55685 Filbert'Rd. Mishawaka, Indiana APPLICATIONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT ordered filed Police Department Applications were x=zmd for Jack Haina and Keith Fry.
