HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/19/67 Board of Public Works Minutes270 June 19, 1967 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order at 10:00.A. M. with members Robert J. DuComb and Lloyd Taylor present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. REODEST FOR TRUNING DUTY LEAVE OF ABSENCE-. TIMOTHY BRASSELL FIREMAN Timothy J. Brassell having petitioned the Board for a leave of absence for the purpose of serving with his reserve unit on "'.fifteen days active duty, same is hereby approved for June 7 until June 22. DEMOTION AND REASSIGNMENT FOR POLICE MAN SERGEANT Russell RYKER Detective Sergeant Russell Ryker having been recommended for demotion from Detective Sergea-tt to Patrolman by his own request for personal reasons, same is hereby approved and detective sergeant Russell Ryker is now demoted to patrolman effective June 16, 1967. SPECIAL POLICE Applications for special police were submitted by Chief. McNaughton for Gene G. Bogardus for the City of South Bend Waste Water Plant, and for Melvin G. Williams at the Bendix Corporation and were appeoved by the Board. POINTMENT OF FIVE POLICEMEN: Police Chief McNaughton having this date recommended to the Board of Works, the appointment of the following named men: Martin Zuroff, Phillip Wayne Stradley, DonaldArthur Ruszkowski, Larry Lee Randt, Jerome Allen '.'Florkawski, to the South Bend Police Department and having informed the Board that these men have passed their physical and mettil tests for such appointment and are in all other particulars qualified for such appointment, the Board now approves the appointment to the South Bend Police Department the following named men as police officers effective June 16, 1967: Martin Zuroff, Philip Wayne Stradley Donald Arthur Ruszkowski, Larry Lee Randt, and Jerome Allen Florkowski. SPECIAL POLICE BOND A special police bond waa approved for Robert L. Kir)gsafer for July 1967 to July 1968. POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION An application for the police department for David John Drajer-4M. ordered filed by the Board of Works. FIRE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION An application for the fire department for Eugene Davis was ordered filed. POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT A report for the police department for the month of May was approved by the -Board a and ordered filed. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS The street light outage reports for the week were ordered filed by the Board. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:00 A.-IM.
