The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. RESOLUTION &6 - TRANSFER OF FUNDS - FIRE DEPARTMENT Resolution #6 - Transfer of Funds - Fire Department , 1967 -- RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety that the sum of $4,450.00 is hereby transferred from Account #Q 726 Other Equipment) to Account #Q 722 (Motor Equipment) , REQUEST FOR BIDS FOR UNIFORMS - POLICE DEPARTMENT Chief Irvin C. Hampton submitted a request to advertise for Police uniforms. The Board approved same, and bids will be taken on Uglj._l. REQUEST FOR BIDS FOR UNIFfJ Z`�- FIRE DEPARTMENT Fire Chief Cecil McHenry requested permission to advertise for fire department uniforms. The Board approved same and bids will be taken on May 1. SPECIAL POLICE BADE A special police badge�::was approved for Olen Earl Lindsey of South Bend, Indiana. A bond was also filed. REQUEST ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT Mr. Eugene E. Radecki, Superintendant of the Electrical Department requested permission to attend the International Municipal signal Association Seminar on May 11, 12 and 13 at Rock Island, Illinois. The Board approved same. POLICE DEPARTMENT - MONTHLY REPORT A monthly report from the Police Department was approved and put on file. TRAFFIC REPORT: CLEM HAZINSKI Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, has asked the following to be added to the minutes of the Board of Public.Works and Safety: 2 Hour Parking 6A21-6PM signs at 603 No. Hillst (Simeris Contrattiws) NO PARKING signs & Posts at 1100 Duey 2 Hour Parking 6AM-6PM signs at 900 So. 20th St. 2 Hours Parking 6AM-6PTvt signs at 1926--Mishawaka Avenue STET LIGHTING - SCOTTSDALE SECTION - TRAFFIC?-• ENGINEERING. Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, has sent the recommendation to the Board of Public Works and safety for 4000 lumen street lights to be mounted on wooden poles to be installed on Selkirk at the following locations: Between 5019 and 5023 Selkirk at Renfrew. South property line of 4921 Selkirk at Dunbarton Court Between lots 192 and 193 Selkirk at Strathmore Court Between 4801 Selkirk and 1401 Perthway. The Board of Public Works approved the recommendation. STREET LIGHT PETITION ON WEST CALVERT It has been recommended by Clem F. Hazinski, Director, that two 4,000 lumen street lights be installed, one at 3101 West Calvert and another at a point 422 feet to the east where there is an existing utility pole, as the only illumination is across from 3101 West Calvert where an old-fashioned umbrella type 92 watt fixture is situated. The Board approved the recommendation. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS The street light outage repoa,ts for the week were approved. 1252 r 7 SIGNING OF CONTRACT - FIRE DEPARUENT PUMPER DID: The bid of the American LaFrance Company being the best and lowest bidder, the contract-'.; was awarded to same. The contract was signed -and details of both the American LaFrance Contract with options and the Midwest Fire and Safety are Listed on the next two pages; I- L 1 F� ,aT Fire AND POLICE DEPARTMENT CNDED BY MISS GUTHRIE who Miss Virginia Guthrie commended the Fire and Police Departments weie on the job in very good time at the recent South Shore Accident.
