M. with members James A -.'-'.Bickel, and Lloyd Taylor present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. BIDS: FIRE DEPARTMENT PUMPER This being the date set, sealed bids were presented for a Class A. Pumper. Proof of publication from the South Bend Tribune signed by Robert DeLong and From -the Tri- County.News signed by Alfred Snyder II The following bids were received: AMERICAN LAFRANCE CO VALPARAISO INDIANA Eton -collusion affidavit signed by V. F. Bud Johnson, Sales Representative Bid bond of 10% of the attached bid signed by T. E. Spotts, Asst. Secretary M DA ST FLU & SAFETY EQUIFNEK1 C 1605 PROSPECT ST INDIANAPOLIS 1, Ind Maxim Motor Company, Div. of Seagraves Corp. Non -collusion affidavit signed by,R. F. Casse Bid bond of 10% of the amount of bid signed by R. F. Casse zs q a s-3 A summary of these bids will be found on Page They will be taken under consideration and checked according to specification and the award will be made at the earliest possible date. PROMOTION - POLICE DEPARTAIENT - Mr. Irvin Hampton, Chief of the South Bend Police Department appeared before the Board and asked that the following promotions be made as of April 1, 1967: Officer Albert Poelvoorde to Detective Sergeant and Officer Max Reeder to Detective Sergeant, both reporting to Inspector J. Jerome -Perkins for Assignment. The Board approved the promotions. APPOINTMENTS - SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT The following men having been -recommended for appointment to the South Bend Police Department by Chief Irvin Hampton, and it having been shown that said applicants are qualified for appointment, it is now hereby ordered by the Board of Public Works and safety that the following men -.be appointed as probationary officers in the Department effective April 3, 1967: Thomas L. Balogh Martin Clem Kruszewski William Clede Harvey James William Linville George Nicholas Hertz Michael D. Palmiter Paul Michael Jewell Daniel Jay Williams Thomas Michael Keres APPLICATION: POLICE DEPARTENT Applications for the South Bend Police Department were received from Martin Zuroff of 2921 Sunnymede Avenue and from Larry Lee Randt of 1203 Dennis Drive and were ordered filed by the Board. TRAFFIC SIGNS Mr. Clem F. Hazinski, traffic director, asked that the following be added to the minutes of the Board: STOP Signs on the SE and NW corners of Anderson at Bulla STOP signs & posts on the NE and SAY corners of King at Anderson Teo"10 HOUR PARKING signs and posts at 1420 - 14 22 Portage Avenue. The preceding were approved by the Board. PARKING RESTRICTIONS - OAK PARK DRIVE Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, recommended to the Board that parking be restricted on the south side of Oak Park Drive for i block west of Ironwood Drive, to ease the turning movements and for vehicles to proceed in opposite directions. The Board approved the recommendation. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS The street light outage reports for the week were approved and ordered filed by the Board.
