The regularmeeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was called to order
at 10:00 A. M. on Tuesday, Fajrruary 14, because of the closing of City Hall on
February 13 because of Lincoln's birthday, All members were in attendance.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
FIRE DEPARTNENT: REQUEST FOR BID
Fire Chief McHenry appeared before the Board and asked for permission to advertise
for bids.for a 1250 G.P.M. Triple Combination Class A. Fire Department Pumper,
according to specifications. This will be advertisedin the South Bend -,Tribune
and the Tri-County News on February 17 and February 24 and bids will be taken on
the 27 th day of March, 1967.
FIRE DEPARTMENT: RECCMENDATIONS OF PRCMOTIONS
The Chief of the South Bend Fire Department, Cecil McHenry, having this date
presented to the Board of Public Safety his recommendation that Firemen Robert
L. Snider, Daniel Plencner and Fireman Jay Randall Ritter be promoted to the rank
of lieutenant. and the Board having exami*d the qualifications og said firemen
and being duly advised on the premises, does now unanmmously order the promotion
of said firemen to the rank of lieutenant effective March 1, 1967.
=1 LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
The Street light outage reports for the week were approved and ordered filed
for the week.
There being no further business,.the meeting was adjourned.
