The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was called to order at 10:00 A. M.
with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved.
F-IRg-PROTECTION AGREEMENT FROM PORTAGE TOWNSHIP:
The Board request Chief McHenry to look over the agreement and give his recommendation
at the January 30th meeting,

The Board of Public Works accepted the application of John NMI White of 734 W. Jefferson
Blvd. South Bend, Indiana and filed same.
NO PARKING SIGNS• 100 W SOUTH STREET
Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, requested that 3 no Parking THIS SIDE OF STREET
SIGNS BE POSTED on the South side of 100 W. South Street.
The Board approved same.

The street light outage reports for the week were approved and put on file.

Insurance policy -.for special police Matthew Joseph Sarec was approved, and the
police,,
for Karl F. Krienke was deducted.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

Mr. Clem Hazinski; Director of the Traffic Engineering Department asked that the
following report be discussed at the meeting of the Board of Public Works and
Safety;
At the present time parking is prohibited on both sides of Chapin Street from
Sample Street (800 block) to the -New York Central Viaduct (500 block.) Such
restrictions provide for orderly and expeditiogs movement of vehicular traffic.
However, parking is still permitted under the viaduct, reducing four lanes to two.
Field checks indic(-te all of the vehicles parked there are operated by Oliver Corp-
oration employees. Adequate off street facilities exist for these.
In order to continue desirable movement and flow, it is recommended that parking
be prohibited on both sides of Chapin Street from and including the viaduct
(500 block) to Western Avenue (400 block.)
The preceding report was approved by the Board.
