The regular meeting of Board of Works and Safety was opened at 10:00 A. M.
with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting and the special
meeting were read and approved.
TRAFFIC ENGINEER - SIGNS
Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, requested that the Board of Public Works and
Safety approve the following signs:
2 30 Minute Time Limit signs to limit parking at 1136 and 1138
Mishawaka Avenue.
TRAFFIC ENGINEER - Parking Prohibited
Mr. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, recommends that parking be prohibited on
the north side of the 1100 block of East Indiana Avenue from Miami to the first
alley east. This street is only 26' wide at this point and parking on both
sides interferes with the traffic approach to Miami Street. Also, behicles
turning into Indiana from Miami are delayed when traffic approaches this
intersection.
The Board approved the two preceding recommendations.
REI-IIS ANNUAL BALL - REQUEST
The South Bend Firemen's Association, through Glenn Hess, President, request
permission to hold their Annual Firemen's Ball on September 10, 1966. The
Ball will be held at Stepan Center at the University of Notre Dame.
The request waa approved by the Board.
APPLICATIONS - POLICE DEPARTMENT
An application from James-J. Vargo was received for the Police Department and
ordered filed by the Board.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
The street light outage reports for the week were ordered filed by the Board..
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 11:00 A. M.
