The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. BIDS - FIRE DEPARTUENT - HOSE This being the date set, sealed bids for hose for the fire department were opened. Proof of publication from the South Bend Tribune signed by Robert DeLong, and from theTr-County News with affidavit signed by Alfred Snyder II were read and found sufficient. FTRE DEPARDENT - REQUEST - william T. Schmidt A request from the Fire Department Oigned by Richard Busfield asking for permission for Lieutenant William T. Schmidt to attend the National Red Cross Acquatic School at Camp Limberlost, LaGrange, Indiana from June 12th to June 22nd. The Board granted permission. REQUEST - FIRE DEPARTMENT CONVENTION AND PARADE, Les VanDeWalle, Convention Chairman, sends a letter of request for permission for the va±ious fire department units to hold a parade on July 30, 1966, in the downtown area. 1 n The parade route will be, assemble at Lafayette and Sample, north on Lafayette to Washington, east on Washington to Main, south on Main to South Street. Approval was granted and the Secretary was instructed to inform the Police Dept. and the street department. REQUEST = PARADE POLICE DEPARTMENT A request from the Fraternal Order of Police, to hold a parade through the downtown area at 11:OO A. M. on Saturday, July 9, in conjunction with the 24th annual Police Show. The parade would consist of area horse and saddle clubs, and would form at 10:30 A. M. in the 300 and 400 blocks of West South Street, then North on Lafayette, East on Colfax, then South on Main to South St. to the assembly area to disband. The request was granted pending the filing of the proper insurance in the Board of Works office. REQUEST POLICE OFFICER - MOVE TO COUNTY A request from Officer Walter L. Benninghoff and approved by Chief Hampton to move out of the city wash approved by the Board. Officer Benninghoff has been with the, Department for fourteen years. �. A request from Officer Paul J. Kozak, and approved by Chief Hampton, to move out of the city was approved by the Board. Officer Kozak has been with Department for twelve years. V REQUEST STREET LIGHTS V A request for a street light on East Byron Drive between Springbrook and Sampson Sts. was received from Eli D. Miller. This request was filed by the Board and referred to Gene Radecki for investigation and recommendation. A request for a street light in the 900 Block of 32nd Street, signed by several residents in that vicinity was received and filed by the Board and referred to Mr. Gene Radecki for investigation and recommendation. STREET SIGN INSTALLATION - TRAFFIC NR. Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, asked that the following installations of signs be approved by the Board: STOP SIGN & Post on Pokagon on south side of street at the approach to Leeper Avenue. 36" Yield Sign & Post on North-east corner of Ridgedale & Twyckenham. APPLICATIONS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT. Applications for the police department were received from the following people: John Joseph Bergan, John Franklin Galasso, David Lee Andrews, and Robert William Drajer. These applications were filed by the Board. APPLICATIONS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT ApPlications for the Fire Department were received and ordered filed by the Board from Ronald Leroy Vargo and Thorns Joseph Bilinski. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS.
