May 9, 1966 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was held on Monday Aay 9, 1966 at 10.00 A,:M, with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted, PETITION - STREET LIGHT - FREDERICKSON STREET A petition for a street light to be installed between 2817 and 2901 frederickson Street was submitted by Walter Szymkowiak, and signed by several residents in the vicinity. The streets involved are Frederickson, between Eclipse and Goodland. The petition was approved and filed and sent to Mr. Radecki for further study and investigation. PETITION - FOUR WAY STOP SIGN-.ARDMORE TRAIL AND NORTH SHERIDAN A petition for a four way stop sign at Ardmore Trail and North Sheridan was signed by 109 residents in the vicinity, and submitted by Walter Szymkowiak, District Councilman. The petition was ordered ,/filed and referred to Clem Hazinski for further investigation and study. FIRE DEPARTMENT --COURSE FOR AMBULANVE ATTENDANTS Assistant Chief Busfield appeared for Chief McHaary and asked that permission be given to Robert Snider and Darrell W. Dunlap to attend the advanced practical course for ambulance attendants in Chicago on May 11 through May 14, 1966. Also for permission for Lieutenant William T. Schmidt to attend the National Fire Protection Association 70th Annual Meeting in Chicago from May 16, 1966 through May 20, 1966. The request was approved. REQUEST - POLICE DEPARTMENT - RETIREMENT OF C. ANDRYSIAK Officer C. Andrysiak, having this date submitted his request for retirement from the South Bend Police Department to the Board of Public Works and Safety and upon showing pro6f that he has been on the department more than twenty years, same is accepted effective at the tipiration date of his terminal leave period, June 7 1966. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS The street light outage reports were approved and ordered filed. PARKING METERS - 200 BLOCK SO, LAFAYETTE BLVD. A recommendation from Clem F. Hazinski, Traffic director, that two parking meters be added in the 200 block of So. Lafayette B9rbd, was approved. One is to be added on the west side of the street 40 ft. north of the intersecting alley,.and the second on the east side of street 50 ft south of the intersection of Jefferson and Lafayette Blvd.
