All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting and the special meetings were read and approved. No vouchers were approved for payment. OPENING BIDS: PQLICE DEPARTMENT ( 7 MOBILE RADIOS ) The time being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and sealed bids for 7 Mobile Radios for use of the Police Department were opened and read aloud. Proofs of Publication from the South Bend Tribune with affidavit signed by Robert DeLong and the Tri-County News with affidavit signed by Alfred W. Snyder, II were found sufficient. The following bids were received: - General Electric Comoaxi 3750 N. Meridian St., Room 107 Indianapolis, Indiana 462C77 7 - General Electric Type MT-56-TBS-66, 30 watt Master Mobile Combination complete with all accessories for two -frequency transmitter operation $596.00 $4,172.00 Less Trade-in: Motorola T-43-GGV-3 Mobile Units Total Net Bid" Bid Bond for $500.00 signed by D. E. King Non-Collus-1.on Affidavit, signed by D. E. King Motorola Communications and Electronics Inc. 4501 W. Augusta Blvd. Chicago, Ill. 60651 7 - Motorola model U43HHT-1110 "Motrac" mobile radios, complete with all control and installation accessories and with guaranteed minimum specifications Total price of proposal, including trade and delivery Delivery will be made on or before January 28, 1966 Bid Bond for $500.00 signed by R. McCormick 75.00 525.00 $3,647.00 $3,7 31.00 It appears that the bid of General Electric Company is the lowest and best bid.' .The Board will take bids under advisement and refer them to the Police and Radio Departments to check with the specifications. RE: STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS ON LINDEN AVENUE ( LETTER - HERCZEG ) A letter from Mr. A. M. Herczeg, thanking the Board for the installation of two street lights along Linden Avenue as per his request and requesting that the budget should consider the additional installation of lights in this area was accepted and ordered placed on file. SPECIAL POLICE CCSVHISSION ( TRIBUNE ) A Special Police Commission for Darwin E. Wilkeson, South Bend Tribune employee, was approved by the Board. This Commission is covered by a blanket Police Bond from the Tribune. The Commission was ordered placed on file. SPECIAL POLICE BOND A Special Police Bond renewal for Allen E. Kester was approved and ordered 138 placed on file. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. A Finding by the Board in the matter -,of Charges filed against Private Marvin Baldwin, of the South Bend Fire Department, was made at this meeting. The Board directed that -this Fi.nding.be made a matter of record and entered on page 1.35 of this Record. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:05 A.M. Chairman 1 1
