HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/30/65 Board of Public Works Minutes�U August 30, 1965 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, August 301, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. POLICE DEPARTMENT• DEMOTION ( P. KOZAK Upon the request of Sgt.,Paul Kozak of the Police Department, for a demotion to the rank of patrolman -froin- rank of Sergeant;o and to continue hia assignment on the 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 P.M. detail, following the recommenda- tion of Police Chief Hampton, the demotion was approved. However, at the recommendation of Chief Hampton, Patrolman Kozak was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on the 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. detail as Desk Sergeant. Said change is effective September 1, 1965. POLICE DEPARTMENT: APPLICATION- �. An application for the Police Department from James Michael Thomas was accepted and ordered placed on file. City TRAFFIC ENGINEER: TRAFFIC SIGNS The following installations were approved: 3 "No Parking w/left and right & double arrows" on east side of 2300 Fellows from Ewing to alley south of Ewing. Replace Yield sign on Marshall at 36th St. with a Stop sign. Stop signs on Marshall at 34th Street. Also "Stop Ahead". 1130 Minute Time Limit" signs on limit parking in front of 122 E. - Sample Street. PETITIONS: STREET LIGHTS The following Petitions for street lights were reviewed by the Board and referred to the Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation: Petition from Councilman Janet Allen for a light in the 700 block of Wenger Street. Petition for alley at junction of alley running north from Lincoln Way Weat between Cottage Grove and Harrison and alley running east from Harrison Avenue. POLICE DEPARTMENT:_ APPLICATIONS The following applications -for the Police Department were accepted and ordered placed on file: Eric Edward Uitdenhowen, Guy Michael. Tevis and Richard Keith Wilson. POLICE SCHOOL AUXILIARY APPLICATIONS The following applications for Auxiliary School Police were accepted and ordered placed on file: Naomi M. Landgraf and Mary Lee Fulce.
