HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/23/65 Board of Public Safety MinutesAugust 23, 1965 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, August 23, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. BUILDING DEPARTMENT: SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARING) Comes now Richard Liszewski, Director of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department, and advises the Board that Ernest and Willowdene Miltenberger, owners of property located at 601-601Z E. Pennsylvania Avenue, had been ordered to appear before the Board to show cause why the subject property had not been brought up to standard as requested. Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that the owner had requested a 30 day continuance in order to make repairs and the Board, after hearing Mr. Liszewski, continued the hearing for a period of 30 days. TRAFFIC ENGINEER: INSTALLATIONS The Board approved the following installations: 1. Remove Stop signs on Jefferson & Camden. Change signs on Camden at Jefferson to regular Stop Signs. Install "Cross Traffic Does Not Stop" signs on Camden. 2. Paint curb yellow at 1405 Portage on both :thdi Elwood and Portage side. 3. Paint curb yellow in front of 114 W. Bronson and replace the 112 Hour Parking" sign with a "No Parking Loading Zone" sign. SPECIAL POLICE CC MlIISSION ( HUNT ) A Special Police Commission for Russell L. Hunt, employed by the South Bend Community Schools, was approved by the Board and ordered placed on file. According to Police Chief Hampton, no Special Police Bond is required for this Commission. REPORT: POLICE DEPARTMENT A Report for the month of July, 1965 was submitted by the Police Department, examined and ordered placed on file. APPLICATIONS: POLICE DEPARTMENT ( AUXILIARY SCHOOL PATROL ) The following applications for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol were accepted and ordered placed on file: Mrs. Leonora Elizabath Luccki and Mrs. Essie Mae Bibbs. APPLICATIONS: FIRE DEPARD ENT The following applications for the Fire Department were accepted and ordered placed on file: Joseph Alexander Lyczynski and Melvin Thomas Chrapliwy. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:15 A.M.
