June 1, 1965
A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Tuesday,
June 1, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the
last regular meeting and the special meeting were read and approved.
Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT: ATTEND QONFERENCE
Permission was granted to Forrest R. West, Building Commissioner, to
attend the 50th Annual Building Officials of America Conference at
St. Louis, Missouri on j'une 6 - 11, 1965. Mr. Richard Liszewski,
Director of the Sub -Standard Division was also granted permission to
attend this, meeting.
SWB-STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS )
Comes now Mrs. Lotte King, owner of property at 234 E. Sample Street
to advise the Board that she has three bids from contractors to wake
repairs on this property which is sub -standard. Sl-e further requested
a continuance in order to check bids and arrange for a loan to make
the necessary repairs.
After hearing Mrs. King, the Board continued this hearing for two
weeks at which time she must produce bids and building permit.
SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( BIDS )
With reference to property located at 406-406z-408-40z E. Wenger
Street, Mr. Liszewski submitted two bids for demolition of this property.
He also advised the Board that he had been informed that there may be
a buyer for this property. The present owner is Mr. Wm. Hayes.
The following bids were received:

BMtOVAL OF PARKING METERS ( OLD MACA SITE )
Following the recommendation of Clem Hazinski, Traffic Director, the
Board approved the removal of 7-parking meters on the east side of
Main Street fram Wayne Street to the first alley north and 7 parking
meterston the north side of Wayne Street from Main Street to the first
alley east. This is recommended in order to provide space at this
location for a shed type pedestrian walkway. When construction of
the new parking ramp is completed, recommendations will be made
with reference to replacement.
PETITION: FOUR WAY STOP SIGN
A Petition from residents of the area for a four-way stop sign on
the corner of Ford and Meade was submitted to the Board and referred
to the Traffic Director, Clem Hazinski, for investigation and recommen-
dation.
SPECIAL POLICE CG MISSIONS
Special Police Commissions for Leroy.H. Batchelor and Mary Batchelor,
employees of the Humane Society, were approved, pending receipt of bonds.

APPLICATION•POLIGE DEPARTMENT
An application from Michael Dwyer Fulnecky for the Pollce Department
was accepted and ordered placed on file.
STREET LIGNT OUTAGE REPORTS
Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:30 A.M.
