RE: POLICE RE �PA119 dfCrTI 1&, DERROUGH Due to a change in dates of the Police AcadeiiZ,-, Rookie School to April ill 1965, the effective date of the appointment of Edward Mi. Derrough to the Police DeDartment was changed from TvIarch 1, 1965 to 11aif-ch.. 16, 1965. This appointment was ,recorded in the minutes of a special meeting of the Board on February 16, 1965. POLICE DEEPJAR'MENTRESIGNAT ION _L R ION ( ES COTT 00 Chief of Police Hampton submitted the ir2it-t-en resignation of Police Officer Richard Scott to the Board. The Board accepted the resignation of Officer Scott, to be effective at the end of the day-, of 1,11arch 8, 1965. I I POLICE MEMARTIvEM DQ10TION _( DET,-SGT,-D, FQj Chief of Police Hampton submitted a letter to the Board in which he advised the Board that Detective Sergeant Donald Foy has requested that be be demoted from Detective Sergeant to Patrolman. Officer Foy had been assigned to the Wee Squad and found that these hours were incompatible lui-ith regard to his family life. Chief. Hampton --requested the Board to consider the demotion favorably and that the demotion be made retroactive to 1,11arch 16, 1965. In accordance 7T-'CLh his request, Officer Foy will be assigned to the Traffic Bureau, 1..Tidnight Accident Car. Folloir,iing the recommendat-lon of Chief Hampton, the Board approved the demotion as submitted. REBUILD STREET LIGHTS CALYERT & TWYCIMNHAM DRIVE AREA) Eugene Radecih, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, submitted a Proposal from the Indiana & 1Nli. chirrm-i Electric Corqpairy- and attached proposal which reads as follo,.,,rs: The Indiana & Michigan Electric Company proposes to rebuild the Street lights in the vicinity of Calvert and Tjry-ekenham Drive as shown on the attached drawing. At the rear of 602 E. Victoria., we propose to remove a 1000 lumen light that is blockirg an exlisting driveway into a garage and in its place install a 4000 Lunen over -head light as shovm on the same attached drayt-ing. The present billing on the existing lights at these locations is: 5 - 1000 L-w-,ie-_ri underground lights 0 $2.00 per mo. 4 - 2500 Lumen underground lights @ S2.50 per mo. Following the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer, the following installations were approved. These installations were taken under advisement on January 18, 1965: 1. Stop Signs - Stop Signs e4 posts on Pleasant & 23rd Street. 2. Stop signs & posts on Pleasant & 25th Street. 3. Remove Stop signs & Posts from S.E. corner of Belmont & Sunnyside. 4. Remove Stop signs ee posts from N.W. corner of Bronson & Sunnyside 5. L� BUILDING DEPAR'MIENT• SUB -STANDARD DIVISION Comes now Richard Liszerrski, Supervisor of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department iwit'_ri the following progress reports and requests: Repair orders for property located at 1109 Duey Street, o-rned by Booker Shell, have not been complied with. The property is nor vacant. Idr. Liszev�wski requested permission to post the building as sub -standard and order that it remain vacant until repair orders are made. Permission granted. Repair orders for property located at 206-206z N. Carlisle Street, owned by Harr;; and Sarah Rodgers, have not been complied with. r.
