A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
February S, 1965 at 10:00 A.M. Messrs. Robert J. DuComb and James A.
Bickel were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read
and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various
suppliers.
AWARDING OF BIDS: POLICE DEPARTMENT Q4 SEDANS 1 STATION WAGON
After examination, it appearing that the following are the lowest and
best bids for the Police Department vehicles, they are awarded as
follows:

LICENSING OF RESTAUP�ANTS
The City Controller was requested to submit a list of restaurants that
have not been licenses for 1965 to l,�.r. Stephen 2J2olnar of the Health
Department who will check the list to ascertain that they are still
in business and are not "seasonal" establishments.
A report will be made on February 15, 1965 and restaurants that have
not been -licenses for 1965 will be dealt with by the Legal Department.
Licenses viere due and payable as of January 31k 1965.
REQUEST: MORT LINDER & ASSOCIATES BAG METERS - DE= HEAZ �VEEK)
A request from Mort Linder & Associates to bag two meters in front of
the Court House on Main Street for February S and February 9, 1965
was submitted to Vile Board.
The Board, after due deliberation, took the following action:
The Board having been requested to bag two meters on Main Street in
front of the Court House for the purpose of advertising the 17th
Annual Children's Dental health Week granted said request. No charge
will be made for the meters.
REQUEST: SOUTH BEND CCU1,'MNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION CHANGE PARKING METERS
A request from Russell L. Hunt, Supervisor of Transportation, South
Bend CoOmvnity School Corporation, to charge three sixty minute parking
meters located in front of the School Administration Building, 228
South St. Joseph Street to twelve minute meters was submitted to the
Board.
The request was made because of the lack of parking facilities on the
School Administration Building parking lot and will permit additional
parking of administrators doing business at the Administration Building
since such business can usually be conducted in a short period of time.
The request was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and
report.
PETITION FOR STREET LIGHT ( EIECTRICAL DEP
A Petition from residents of Hass Drive to install a street light on
Hass Drive, between Rose and Kettering, referred to the Electrical
Department and recommended favorably by 16r. Radecki, was brought to
the attention of the Board.
The Board referred this Petition and recommendation to the City
Engineer for his recommendation. I
REQUEST: FIRE DEMRTIENT ( ANNUAL BALL )
A request from the South Bend Firemen's Association to hold their
annual Ball on September 4, 1965 at the University of Notre Dame Stepan
Center was granted by the Board.
APPLICATION: POLICE DEPARMNT
An application from Wi,liam Edwin Hazelip for the Police Department
was accepted and ordered placed on file.
BUIIDING DEPART TENT IVICUTHLY REPORT
A report for the month of Janliary, 1965 from the Building Department
was submitted, accepted and ordered placed on file.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.
BUILDING DEPARMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION
11r. Richard Liszewski, Supervisor of the Sub -Standard Division of the
Building Department, appeared before the Board and requested permission
to post as sub -standard a vacant structure located at 4102 E. I�easey
Street, momed by Virginia Noble.
Permission granted.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned at 11'130 A.Irl.
