Special meeting - May 20, 1969
A special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 2:00
P.M., on May 20, 1969, in the Council Chambers. All members were present.
Also present at the meeting was Donald McElfresh, representative of T. Y.
Lin & Associates, Inc., consulting engineers for the Municipal Parking
Garages projects.
The purpose of the meeting was to receive bids for construction of municipal
parking garages to be located at the southeast corner of N. Main Street and
W. Colfax Avenue (identified as Structure #1), and at the northwest corner
of S. St. Joseph Street and E. Jefferson Boulevard (identified as Structure #2).
Bids were received and opened on the following classes of work:
1. General construction (including removal of existing structuresa.
2. Mechanical (including plumbing, heating, ventilating & air conditioning).
3. Electrical (including traffic control signals).
4. Elevators.

The Clerk<tendered:proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and in
the Tri County News on April 18 and April 25, 1969, which were read and found
to be proper.
Upon examination, non collusion affidavit was found to be proper for each
bid submitted. Bid bond of 5% of the bid was submitted with each <bid and
found to be proper. Financial Statement Form 96a also accompanied each bid.

Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the bids were taken
under advisement.
