Special Meeting April 3, 1969
A special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:00
A.M. on April 3, 1969, with James A. Bickel and S. J. Crumpacker present..
Themeeting was tailed for the purpose of considering the request of
Ronald Hetteson, chairman, on behalf of the Black'Press,.c/o Hansel
Neighborhood Center, West Washington Street, South Bend, to conduct a
"march" commencing at 3:00 P.M. and lasting approximately one hour, on
April 4, 1969, in memory of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., said marches
to commence at various places and terminate at Hansel Center. Upon motion
made, seconded and carried, the request was granted.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
