HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/11/70 Board of Public Works Special Meeting MinutesSpecial Meeting - August 11, 1970 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 7:30 P. M., in Room 1308 County City Building. Present were Lloyd S. Taylor, City Engineer, and S. J. Crumpacker, City Attorney. Also present at the meeting were John Worley of Clyde E. Williams and Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, Calvin L. Frappier, Pollution Control Officer of the St. Joseph County Health Department, and 12 interested residents. HEARING ON IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3321.9 1970 - BEALE STREET SEWER This being the date set for hearing on Improvement Resolution No. 3321, 1970, being for the improvement of Beale Street, from Cushing Street to Riverside Drive, by constructing a local sanitary sewer, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on July 24 and July 31, 1970, which were read and found to be proper. Mr. Taylor, Chairman of the meeting, explained that following the rescinding on June 22, 1970, of Improvement Resolution No. 3316, 1970, being for the improve- ment of Beale Street from Cushing Street to Riverside Drive by constructing a local sewer, further complaints of unsanitary conditions having been received and the St. Joseph County Health Department having ;:certified that'a health hazard exists, this hearing is held for the further consideration of the installation of a sanitary sewer. After hearing all persons who wished to speak, the matter was taken under advise- ment by the Board. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 8:25 P.M. bef 91��CrumpackeV 1
