EXCAVATION BOND APPROVED - BRADBERRY BROTHERS Certificate continuing excavation bond of Bradberry Brothers to 1/l/72 was approved by the Board and ordered filed. CONTRACTOR'S BOND TERMINATED - GILBERT HARWELL Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Contractor's bond #4325163 of Western Surety Company for Gilbert harwell was terminated for any work performed by Gilbert Harwell on and after October 4, 1971. , STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street light outage reports for the period 9/22/71 to 9/30/71 were ordered filed, There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting ad- journed at 10:25 A.M. ATTEST: Clerk SPECIAL MEETING - OCTOBER 8, 1971 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 8:30 A.M. on October 8, 1971, with all members present. Having determined that it would be to the best interests of the City of South Bend to accomplish certain improvements, including but not limited to the installation of a heating and air conditioning system for the Morris Civic Auditorium, the acquisition of land for a civic center and the acquisition of land for a fire station, and having determined that an emergency exists for the expenditure of more money than was set out in detail in the published budget, and having further determined that necessary funds for such acquisitions, construction and improvements will be in an amount not to exceed $1,630,000.00, the motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried that Resolution numbered 10-8-71 requesting the City Controller and the Common Council to take proper steps immediately to provide funds necessary for said purposes in an amount not to exceed $1,630,000.00 be adopted and to that end that a copy of said resolution be filed with the City Controller and presented to the Common Council as soon as may be done.
