Special Meeting - September 23, 1971.
A'special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 8:00 A.M.
on September 23, 1971, with all members present.
FINDINGS OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY - MAPLE LANE ANNEXATION
ORDINANCE
"TO THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL:
September 23, 1971.
Subject: Maple Lane Annexation Ordinance
"This is to certify that we, the Board of Public Works
and Safety of the city of South Bend, Indiana, have examined the
ordinance annexing the area described within the ordinance of the
city of South Bend, together with city maps, utility locations,
statistical reports and other data pertaining to the annexation
and find as follows:
111. That the resident population of the area to be annexed
exceeds three persons for each acre of land included within its
boundaries.
112. That more than 60% of the area to be annexed is either
subdivided or zoned for commercial, business or industrial uses.
9. That more than one -eighth of the aggregate external
boundaries of the area to be annexed coincide with the boundaries
of the City of South Bend.
114. That the City of South Bend through the Area Plan
Commission of St. Joseph County has developed an overall comprehensive
plan for annexation of the contiguous urban areas surrounding the City.
115. That the City has made an analysis of the cost of this
annexation and has developed a fiscal plan and established definite
policies to furnish the territory to be annexed with governmental and
proprietary services substantially equivalent in standard and scope to
those services furnished by the City to other areas of the City with-
in a period not to exceed three years.
