MAY 21, 1973
A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 10:50 a.m.
on Monday, May 21, 1973 with all members present.
The purpose of the meeting was to consider the following letter which was
not delivered until after the regular meeting adjourned:
RECOMMENDATION - POLICE VEHICLE BIDS
May 18, 1973
Board of Public Works
County -City Building
227 West Jefferson Boulevard
South Bend, Indiana 46601
Gentlemen: Reference: Recommendation of Vehicle Bids
Since appropriation of the money for the ten (10) additional
police vehicles for the Police Department, and upon receipt of the
only bid submitted, it is found that we did not appropriate sufficient
funds for ten vehicles in accordance to specifications.
It is my request that we purchase nine (9) additional vehicles
as per bid price at the earliest possible time due to manufacturer
.shut -down on 1973 models. '
Any consideration would be appreciated.

Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation
of Chief Urban that nine vehicles be.purchased.
The meeting adjourned at 10:53 a.m., upon motion made, seconded and carried.
