AUGUST 8, 1974
A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 1974 with all members present. --
A permit to construct a Photo Hut on the River Bend Plaza, which
was approved on Monday, July 29, 1974, was discussed. It was
felt by the members of the Board that the information presented
concerning the installation of the but was not clear and was
misinterpreted by the members of the Board.
It was determined that the installation of this but has not been
completely consistent with the thinking of all interested parties
and the professional staff of the Department of Redevelopment did
not have a chance to review and approve the installation. It was
the recommendation of the Department of Redevelopment Staff that,
because this building was incompatible with the aesthetics of the
Plaza, it should not be permitted.
After discussion, the members of the Board concurred in this
recommendation. It was moved by Mr. Barcome, seconded by Mr. Seitz,
that the permit to allow this but on the River Bend Plaza be
revoked. The motion was carried. It was understood in the dis-
cussion that the permit fee would be refunded to the applicant.
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon
motion made, seconded and carried, the special meeting adjourned
at 9:40 a.m.
