REQUEST FOR TENT SALE
JUNE 10, 1974
the Board of Public Works was convened at
June 10, 1974 with Mr. Barcome and Mr.
The purpose of the special meeting was to consider a request for a
Tent Sale to be conducted by the Goodyear Service Store at the
corner of Western and Main Streets from June 10 through.June 15, 1974.
The tent is up and has been `inspected by the Fire Department but
they were not aware they needed to secure permission from the Board.
It was noted that the Board requires a two week advance notice for
any such tent sale so that the request can be reviewed by the Bureau
of Traffic and Lighting, the Building Department and the Fire Depart-
ment before the Board takes action on such a request. It was also
noted that if the Goodyear Service Store plans such an event in the_-0,
future, the Board will not approve it unless sufficient time is given
them to make the necessary investigations.
Upon motion made,,seco.rided and carried, the Board approved the request
for the Tent Sale from June 10 through June 15, subject to full
compliance with the requirements of the South Bend Fire Department
and the Building Department, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting.
Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 4:15 pm.
